Schedule

The majority of our preparation involves attending team meetings and learning as much as we can about Peru. Here’s a look at our schedule. Click any link to learn more.

  • 12/06/09: Panera Denver. Presentation topic: Health – Sara
  • 1/06/10, 6pm: Whole Foods, Colorado Boulevard, Glendale. Presentation topic: Food and dietJennifer
  • 1/16/10, noon: Katherine’s house, Lakewood – pot luck. Presentation topics: Culture / history (entertainment/music) - Justin, Travel stats & requirements / money – Linda
  • 2/03/10, 6pm: Jennifer’s house – Boulder. 1st run of presentations.
  • 2/12/2010, 5:30 pm:  Limon Restaurant. Social evening with spouses/family. Photo taken for business cards and brochure.
  • 2/17/10, 6pm: Sekich Office Park in Mead –  Presentation topic: Religion / government / child welfare - Katherine.  Geography - Sara.  History – Justin.  Guest speaker – Martin Postma, ShelterBox. Practice presentation; review itinerary!
  • 3/7/10, 1:00 – 4:00:  Justin’s house.  Practice presentation, scheduling post-exchange Rotary presentations, reception with DG, get-together with outbound Japan GSE Team.
  • 3/13/10, 11:00 – 2:00:  Gale’s house. “Tweak” our presentation
  • 3/27/10, 10:00 am- 1:00 pm Connie’s house (thanks, Connie, for providing brunch!)  Final run-through of presentation (Power Point), pre-departure celebration

4/03/10 We leave for Peru!!!

(The Exchange:  dates are subject to change):

4/04 – Happy Easter!  We arrive in Lima for a few hours’ rest and maybe Easter Mass, then we fly to Cuzco to meet our first host families and explore the colonial city

4/10 - Puno – explore Las Chulpas de Sillustani and Lake Titicaca, among other attractions

4/15 – Arequipa (la ciudad blanca)

4/20 - Tacna – Arica

4/24- Ica – visit Nasca and the enigmatic Nasca Lines; Palpa, Chincha and Pisco

4/30 – 5/2 Rotary District 4300 Conference

5/03/10 Exchange ends, Team returns to Colorado

  1. Hi! I was wondering if you would like to practice your presentation to our Rotary Club in March. We would LOVE to see what you will be presenting and it will give us a different perspective than the one we will get at our District Conference from the inbound GSE team. Our Club meets on Tuesday at 5:15 in the Highlands Neighborhood of Denver. Let me know!!
